The body of this work speaks to the interplay between the classical realism of object representation and the abstract depiction of the patterns of social versus aesthetic values. Within the transitory presentations of shadow and light are the unanswered polemics regarding the meaning, if any, of the original intent, of the artist, and of the subject as well. For intent precedes the cognition of the artist and the persistence of the subject. Thus these photographs portray intent in its natal manifestation, without attempt to explain or dismiss what follows.
